For an offer that needs a careful reading

This consultation is for applicants who have received a vacancy description, email offer, or draft contract for hotel, restaurant, catering, resort, event, harvest-support, or other time-limited work in Germany. We connect the written terms with the practical realities of moving: where you will sleep, when you will be paid, how shifts are recorded, and what must happen after arrival.

It is delivered by an Engine Labhub employment adviser familiar with German hospitality hiring and seasonal onboarding. The service provides practical information and question preparation; it does not replace advice from a German lawyer, tax adviser, immigration authority, or trade union.

What the 75 minutes cover

  • The employer’s identity, role title, workplace and intended start and end dates.
  • Gross wage, likely deductions, overtime language, probation and pay schedule.
  • Weekly hours, shift patterns, rest days, holiday wording and time recording.
  • Staff accommodation: address, occupancy, cost, deposit, house rules and what happens if employment ends.
  • Arrival tasks such as address registration, health-insurance confirmation, tax identification and opening a suitable bank account.
  • A prioritised list of points to confirm in writing before committing.

After the call, you receive a concise action note within one working day. It records open questions and suggested next steps; it is not a legal opinion or a rewritten contract.

What to send and how to prepare

Send the vacancy, offer or contract at least one working day before the meeting. You may redact passport numbers, signatures, bank details and other unnecessary identifiers. Add your expected arrival date and the three questions causing the most uncertainty. Documents can be in English or German.

The consultation works best when an actual offer exists. If you are still searching, the Job Search Direction Session is usually a better first step.

Scope and limits

We do not place candidates, contact employers on a client’s behalf, guarantee that a vacancy is genuine, secure visas, or advise on individual legal claims. Non-EU/EEA/Swiss citizens should confirm work permission directly with the responsible German mission or foreigners authority. Translation is limited to explaining key employment wording, not certified document translation.

Rescheduling is available with 24 hours’ notice. See the cancellation and refund policy for full conditions.

Next step

Request the session through the contact form and attach no sensitive documents at first. We reply within one working day with a secure way to provide the relevant pages and two proposed appointment times.
